I am trying to set up a feature with my message board where people can upload images from a web browser for display in the message board. I am using PHPBB for the message board and while I know that there is a mod for it, I have very limited knowledge for that sort of thing.

Someone suggested ASPUpload and I am wondering if something like that will work with a UPipe account. Any other suggestions would be great!

Thanks

I assume the mod you are talking about is the second one on this page: http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/catdb.php?cat=51

If you are not comfortable doing the install yourself, I will do it for you for a charge of $36 ($36/hour * 1 hour (as listed on the module)). If less time is required, you would be charged as such.

Let me know via e-mail or private message if you'd like the assistance.

Thanks,

That feature is supported by default in a lot of forum software. I think this forum (invisionboard) supports the feature, but we don't have it enabled. The reason we didn't enable it is because that feature is often abused by unethical individuals looking for a free place to host and hide their pornographic images.

In terms of "how do I apply a mod?", I would start by reading the directions included with the mod. There is almost always a "readme" or "install" text file included that contains those directions. If there isn't, you might be able to find help by searching Google.

I don't know anything about ASPUpload and this is the first time I've heard of it, so I don't know if it will work on a Upipe account.

Will it work with PHP Safe Mode "on"? The Upipe server runs with safe mode on and we will not turn it off for security reasons. Many poorly programmed scripts require safe mode to be off because the programmer didn't know enough to make it work with safe mode on.
